Here is a list of places in the US that are licensed to handle animals for immediate slaughter.

The issue that many states had imposed "temporary" bans on imports until they figured out import protocols is complicating matters. Many of these bans were supposed to be lifted/expire in the fall; however, they remain in place...maybe they are waiting for the national surveillance program in the USA....

South Dakota was a possibility according to the State Veterinarian....the receiving plant must be approved to receive immediate slaughter animals from Canada (the USDA grants these approvals and they are around $300)

These guys are doing bison in Mobridge, SD and maybe do elk

"There is a small slaughter facility in Omaha Nebraska, J.F. O'Neill Packing Co. They have been approved to ship beef to the EU. Mike O'Neill is the owner and your best contact at that facility. The phone number there is 1-402-733-4911."
